The clocks
There were a couple of relatively minor signs yesterday of what we can all expect at Stratford. The two digital clocks (in the corners on the west side) were turned off during the first half, forcing us to check the time on the big screens, which were showing adverts. Then, at half time, rather than showing the half time scores, the TVs in the Chicken Run showed...you guessed it, loads more adverts. What the fuck. There's more and more evidence that, as far as the Board are concerned, all we are is a marketing opportunity. And so the Stratford nightmare begins...welcome to the 'West Ham experience'.

Re: The clocks
Are they trying to make more money so it's easier to buy new players?

What a bunch of bastards!

Re: The clocks
Johnson, are you counting your own pointless posts there, or what?

Pathetic comeback because I responded to someone complaining about advertising in the stadium?

You must be bored shitless.

There won't be an Olympic Stadium.

It will be the Betfred Carlsberg Durex Stadium

Re: The clocks
I noticed the clocks had gone off, so I checked my watch, and can you believe it there was and advert for bet365 on it!?

Johnson 6:49 Sun Nov 9
Re: The clocks
In order to prove how not pathetic your response is, Lily how's about you tell us without making it up just how much money will be made from forcing people to look at the screen instead of the clocks.

That way we can see how it directly affects player purchasing and how it stack up against the £60m plus from Sky, matchday revenue and winnings from competitions.

Re: The clocks
No, Johnson. You can fuck off. I don't play your pedantic wank games. go find another mug to raise your hard ons with.

Re: The clocks
If you can't resist buying something advertised on the screen, just look at your watch or phone instead. Personally I've got enough willpower not to be forced into making an impulse purchase so I'll carry on looking at the screen.

Re: The clocks
Next thing you know they'll be charging people to get in, the cunts.

Don't worry Johnsonym. You'll be too far away from the adverts at the OS to be bothered by them won't you?

Johnson 7:09 Sun Nov 9
Re: The clocks
Just admit you have no idea and thus it was a pathetic dig at someone daring to have an opinion, Lily, it's much easier.

They've had adverts on the big screen for years?

Re: The clocks
Whatever. I'm just not sure I'll enjoy being fed a constant stream of West Ham-lite shite, when we're all sitting in the Olympic Stadium. And of course I understand the need to be financially viable. But on whose terms? Sullivan isn't turning off the clocks to raise money for the squad. He's doing it to show prospective buyers that our club's a blanket advertising opportunity first and a football club second. We're changing and it's not all for the better.

Re: The clocks
Ive read some strange things on here over the years about what the club does to piss people off, but this is one of the strangest yet. Does it really fucking matter whether we have a digital clock at the os and if we have, that they turn it off during the match forcing you to look at the big screen which has an advert on it.
Seriously, some people really need to get out into the real world a bit more.
